Healthy Breakfast is the most important meal during the day and sometimes we forget about that. My mum always uses to tell me a Spanish expression which it says “you must have breakfast as a King, have lunch as a Prince and have dinner as a beggar”. That means that you have to start with energy to afford a hard working day, an intense lesson at university or look after your children. And what better way to face the day with strength that a breakfast rich in vitamins and carbohydrates. We should avoid butter, jam, toasts and biscuits in our first meal of the day. Here you have some ideas of the products that you can include in your breakfast.

Coffee or Tea:

I am the kind of person who cannot start the day with a cup of coffee on my hand, otherwise I will be moody. So for me coffee is a must on my breakfast. But, if coffee does not suit you, a good cup of tea is the best ally to start the day with energy.

Eggs:

They are a good source of proteins and vitamin D. The best way to have them for breakfast is boiled, scrambled, poached or in omelette. If you prefer fried eggs, you should know that includes add extra fat to our breakfast.

Oats:

Oats are one of the cereals more healthy. They are rich in fatty acid omega-3, folic acid and potassium. For example, you can eat them with honey or fruit for controlling the quantity of sugar that we put in our breakfast.

Yogurt:

It is a great source of calcium and proteins and you can use it as a substitute of milk for those who have lactose intolerance. However, yogurt has a high content on fats; Greek yogurt can be a good choice for its low fat content.

Bananas:

Those are rich in fibre and are one of the most caloric fruits on the market. For that reason the best moment for eat them is in the morning because they will give the strength to start the day with energy and through the day you will burn all those calories! You can use bananas as a substitute of sugar for the cereals or yogurt.

Melon and watermelon:

Those fruits have very few calories and plenty of water. Melon and watermelon will help you to hydrate yourself properly.
Strawberries, raspberries and blueberries:
Low calories and potent antioxidant are the identity of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. What’s more they are rich in vitamin C, folic acid and fibre. You can add them in your cereals and yogurts.
